Hi ladies,
I am wanting to train in nails as a brand new thing for me! I have NEVER (!!!) had my own nails done though - do you think this would be an issue?

I was looking into essential nails and wondered if this was worth it!

Any advise would be soooo helpful!

I want to go mobile once trained (already have a business so have the business knowledge already), I just worry about my real lack of experience in this area!

Welcome!!

Nails is a great world =) I've been in and out, and being in is a million times better.

It would help if you could tell us whether you want to do gels, acrylics, both, etc.

I don't think it's neccesarily a hinderance not having your nails done before, but I will say that the two girls in my class who hadn't had theirs done before, struggled with the concepts and wrapping their minds around everything.

I'd recommend watching some youtube videos on applications of acrylic nails and gel nails. Make sure you're watching repubtable videos too. Like the ones from CND or Wilde Cosmetics. That way you go into your class with even just a tiny bit of knowledge of tips, forms, bonding agents, builders, sculptors, sealant etc.

Thank you!
Thats part of the problem! Because I haven't had mine done I am a bit clueless!
I think I like the sound of gels having done a little research, but any guindance would be great. Is it better to start with one in particular?

Thanks in advance :D

I couldn't really say because I've only trained in gels.

Maybe one of the other ladies here can help you if they've done both. All I'll say is that I underestimated the amount of practicing it would take me to be good at gels. They are definitely tougher than they look. It really truly is an art!

Either way, good luck friend!

It could be a good thing that you havent ever had them done, makes you a blank canvas ... and hear on this site you will find loads of info on good classes to take, :) good luck
