HI

I have done alot of searching but still unsure.so hopping you might beable to help.
I do natural overlays using l&p and have done this 3 times on this one client. She has long nails and to begin with was getting lifting in zone 3 which i put down to my application, changed what i was doing learnt from it and so far have had no lifting in zone three, however i saw her today and she pointed out lifting on the free edge! I did her nails for her at least 10 days ago. if it was my application would it have taken this long to lift?? it is only on one nail and she suspects it is also starting on one of her thumbs. I thought i had cracked it and finally given her a decent set of nails that might come back next week with minimal lifting!
To my knowledge it hasnt happened to anyone else and i do my own nails (mainly to try and learn how near to the side walls ect i can go) and never had this problem. Everytime i do her nails theres a problem (if you have read myother threads you will know about this).
Any opinions would be welcomed. thanks

There's one simple rule to remember! Nails do not chip or break unless they are hit against something.

Maybe her nails are just too long for whatever she is doing.

Have you filed the free edge at a 45º angle so that there is ALWAYS a bit of product in front of the natural nail to protect it?

Only you and she can answer these questions.

I would tell her to go shorter with the length as she is obviously banging the ends of her fingers against something.

My nails are a NNO .. I type all day and rarely have a chip but sometimes I do .. that is the time I know I should file the length down a bit.

thankyou, thats what i thought! i did advise her last time to go shorter but i think we struggled to agree to take them down by 1/2 cm. She really likes them long. i think im going to have to suggest a shorter length again,im under the assumption that she think the problems are because im training.
I am sure i finished them correctly but will pay extra attention next time.
I think i need to start believing in my judgement as i have had proper training.
Many thanks for your help once again :)
