Cutting short styles

I may as well accept the fact that my short hair cuts are not as good as my mid - long hair styles. Give me 4" or more and i can work wonders but any shorter and to be honest in am pretty embarressed!
I think it must have been as in my old salon my friend was a barbering expert so men and women with short hair do's gravitated towards her , where men or women with longer hair came to me and were obviously happy and came back.
I didnt really think much about it as i love long hair, hair up extensions perming you know.Now i am freelance it has really knocked my confidence i know everyone has strengths and weaknesses but i dont find it acceptable i need to rectify this asap.
I worry that its maybe the way i have been holding my scissors or comb, have i got into sloppy ways.
I know courses will help but i feel so embarrsed by the level of cutting i dont know what to go , or whether they would just think i am cr*p.
Dont hold back i need advise and if you need to be brutal go ahead!!:o

A cutting course/ refresher course maybe whats needed.

Of no need to be embarrassed we all have strengths and weaknesses lol... and you will find a course that covers short cuts ,
just ask the person teaching the course to go over one with you...... they are there to help ,
also .... take a look on you tube for starters there are plenty of professionals doing demos on there....
you are trained so you will know what is what ..... there's even Wella cuts online too , salons direct do cutting courses and so do sally give them a ring
you only need a few short courses and a bit of practice and you will do fine

If you are fine with longer hair cutting, you just need a little help translating into shorter hair work, then a refresher course would be fine.

Near me we have some small independant colleges which offer these courses.

hey my short styles are not good at all i hate them lol. but you know what helped me and now im ace at them. get some hair dvds and watch them a few times and you will learn diferent cuts and tecnuiqes its awsome. or do a short course is short hair cutting that would be good to. but dvds help me
