I currently use Star Nail gels for tip/overlays and love everything about them apart from I seem to have difficulty in creating that georgeous "arch" that looks so natural. The nails I produce are not completely flat but am wondering if a change in brand to say NSI would be beneficial. I also am using a 36 watt lamp which works really well with Star Nail gel and I beleive is compatible with the NSI Balance (hope so anyway).

Any thoughts fellow geeks?

what u mean with arch ?? is it the c curve?? nsi balance is a good gel...but u have to do the c curve ur self i mean nsi gel wont help u creating it...my way is place a big bead in the middle and spread it with the edge of my brush to cover whole nail and leave it to set ....turn ur client hand to create the c curve. does that make sense...sorry I'm not really good in explanations but trying to help...xxx

you could try freeze curing 1 nail at a time....so create the arch on 1 nail and cure it for 10 secs to stop it spreading while you do the others.

i use nsi gels and i had a demo nail done when i went to olympia so i could see there way of doing it and let me tell you i found it so much easier.
when you are trying to build your apex etc... apply one ball to the middle of the nail starting at cuticle and taking it to the free edge then repeat this for the left and right side.
once i have done this over the whole nail i then turn the clients hand upside down to allow the gel to move and build up the apex even more from what i have already done.
i then freeze cure and look at the nail to see if how it looks and if i need to apply more gel then i do and then cure.
they said why move the gel more than you have too which seeing it done this way made sense for me.
i hope you get what i mean.

Yep I mean the arch, sorry to confuse things. Great nail tips, thank you very much.

I will certainly give this a go. Lots of practicing me thinks!
