I've been looking into Dermatology as a career path as I love skin care but only learnt the very basics in my Level 2 training and I want to more learn in depth.

I'm looking for any advice or information people can give me.
I have researched over again but I'm still confused as to where to start or what the first steps are I need to take? Am I right in thinking you need a medical degree before you can specialise in skin care?
Is there any other way of going around it without the medical degree or is that the only way?

Best call up the college and ask?
I know our technickon does a smotologist course it's 3 full years. You can work with doctors in their skin care clinics

Wow, something like that would be perfect for me but we don't have anything like that in the UK from what I know. :(

Sorry a what course? Put smotologist into goole and nothing came up

When I typed it in, it came up with Somatologist. Think that's what she meant. I've never heard of before. xx

Hi there. I worked as dermatology nurse for four years and went into aesthetics in Harley street. I have a total of twenty years nursing. You do have to do your general training as a nurse first. You could try to look into a nurses assistant training.
