Hey every1,

I've just started renting a nail bar and beauty room and want to offer spray tanning. Now I've been spray tanning for the last 2 years but I've no certificate to say I can actually do it as I was trained by my previous employer in shop,

Now can I still go ahead and offer this service or will I have to get some kinda cert 1st,

Thanks in advance,

my suggestion (not knowing myself) would be to speak to sunquest - i know i appear to big them up alot but they have never done wrong by me.

their number 0161 320 1738

I would imagine you will need to obtain an accredited certificate to be covered by your insurance. there are lots of tanning companies out there offering accredited training/certification....whichever you choose ensure they are accredited.
Just a few off the top of my head that always get good feedback, Nouvatan, Tantrick, Sienna X....shop about and see who is offering in your area. although I appreciate you have already been trained, you never know you may pick up some new tips too!!
I personally trained with Tantrick and can not fault my training.

If you look in the events section on here you will find details of upcoming tanning training for all of these companies, their contact details will be listed within their post.

You must get trained and gain an accredited certificate. Without this you are not qualified and uninsured.

Please remember you are covering someones entire body with chemicals. Any reaction could be disastrous and will very likely result in you being sued.

The issue is not one of your own competence which im sure you have plenty of having been spray tanning people for a number of years....the issue is more one of insurance cover.

Presumably when with your previous employer you were covered under there insurance and now that you are in business you will need to obtain cover in your own right.

Given that most insurance providers require proof of competence this will undoubtedly require you to get yourself booked with a training provider that can issue the necessary certificate that your insurers would require.

HTH .
