For a while now I have wanted to take the giant step to becoming a nail technician. The problem is getting started, 1) I need to organise some form of advertising and 2) i am really nervous about getting started.
I qualified in June with Creative nails and even though i do my families nails I am just worried about charging for the acrylics. I know i should probably just jump in at the deep end, everyone tells me my nails look great i just worry!

Any recommendation, I have no idea what to charge and I did my own nails the other day and it has never happened before but i seem to have loads of air bubbles anybody know why?

Please help....Miss Newbie

Hi,

I too am new to this site and a newly qualified tech, did a similar thread yesterday and the common theme seems to be that the best form of advertising is word of mouth. So just crack on and get going on people who will hopefully recommend you.

It's hard as there are lots of people out there at it but I find it enjoyable although it's slow picking up regular clients...

Hope this helps and good luck,

:)ou could put a notice in your local supermarket, or on car windows at the supermarkewt and your local shops thats a few to start with also yell.com has free advertising which I have had a couple of calls for, you could find out what the average price is from other techs and charge a little less but tell potential customers why you are charging less and that your prices will change once you have your confidence and timings right. hope this helps.

One of the main reasons for air bubbles with the system you are using is if you try to work your product to quick,
take your mind back to when you were training,
pick up your bead, place it on the zone and wait about 3 seconds, (you were probably taught the going going gone phrase) before using your brush to PAT it into to place,
gently pat the product do not try to push into it with your brush as this will cause problems too hth
welcome to the site too
