Dried flowers/crushed shells/canes

Hi all fellow geeks..I have a problem. I use gel and when i try and encase such things as dried flowers/canes etc the nails end up being way too thick. I have read so many threads and tried a few times:cry: but to no avail. All of the nails i see with encased art on this site seem really thin.What is the trick:!::idea:. All replies greatly received.

P.s I really need to master this cos i really want to do this type of nail art as i have so many new ideas!!!
