I have been looking at buying some machines so that I can start up my own bussiness. I noticed on ebay there are some machines from China which are much more affordable but for some reason have held off buying them ( gut feeling)
Does anyone here use machines from china? ( the ones from ebay) or am I doing the right thing steering clear?

I have. SegWA was the one I purch from. The exact same machines sell here for thousands more. They even use the same picture.

What kind of products? Just a point to remember the price maybe cheap but when you consider how many you have to buy to get that price and then pay the shipping its not so good. Obviously most of us would have seen these seductive offers and end up not doing it for many reasons:

1) Cheap machines have a huge return rate
2) Who pays the costs to send them back to manufacturers?
3) You will probably need to convert them which has a cost.
4) Buy cheap you will end up paying a lot more in the end and lose face with your customers. Remember you only get one chance to make a first impression.

Sorry hun but why would you buy from an uncertain source rather than buy from a known supplier where you can have a guarantee on anything you buy??

I would never buy any electrical items professional or non professional off ebay as there is no guarantee they are going to work.
I am very much a support your local supplier type of purchaser:hug:

I have had my own six room salon for eight years and I have never bought into the hype for the high priced, lease yourself up to the eyballs machines that come and go. I spend a lot of time working out what is best for me and my team.

The items we have bought over from China were freight inclusive and it was easy to tell from the long history of positive feedback that the products were good and the company was providing good aftercare. The local supplier here has no independant list of feedback to confirm he will provide after care or refund me if the item is faulty so why should I trust him more?

The company in China helped me straight away with an issue I had with using part of one of my machines and even took photos to email me to help explain it better. The instructions are not perfect but the aftercare is pretty good when you have an issue.

I have also purchased my spray tan unit on ebay second hand and saved $$ plus my tent and several of my massage tables. I got mag lamps and steamers new on ebay. All are still working well and I am very happy with how much I saved. The only thing I regret buying was cheap wax pots. They cracked after a year so I am back to all BeautyPro pots again.

Buying machines direct from China can be a bit of a hit and miss kind of thing im afraid...just like anywhere there are good and bad manufacturers/suppliers.
Ask yourself if you happen on a bad one...how the heck will you deal with the supplier.....one things for sure it wont be as easy as dealing with a UK based one.

In conclusion...saving money in the short term can work out but in some cases can cost you heaps.....bit of a Russian roulette kind of thing im afraid

HTH

Hi, Electrical items from China, via ebay, are often not rated for our mains voltage (230v) and also may not have the CE safety certification (which every electrical item in the UK must have). Either of these will prevent you from legally using them in a commercial premises as they will fail our UK PAT test.

Apart from that postage is huge and you'll have to pay import tax and duty on top.

Support UK suppliers by buying their goods, well all be in trouble if they go bust:)
