Enhancements and Health Spas

Sorry if this has been covered elsewhere but I wasn't sure what to search for!

A longstanding client of mine who has had no previous problems with her l&p enhancements came to her regular 3 weekly maintenance appointment tonight sporting only 1 nail! This is unheard of for her and she was quite upset :cry: So was I, as she normally has fab nails needing the absolute minimum of work to bring them back to full glory.

Thing is, she says they were perfect until she went to a health spa for the weekend and spent most of her time in their pool. Afterward they seemed to just crumble. Strangely, the one that was left still seemed to be quite solid but there was no evidence of nail plate damage so she certainly didn't pick them off (she's not a picker anyway).

I've given her a new set so we'll see what happens over the next 3 weeks, but in the meantime has anyone heard of any problems with the chemicals used in health spa pools and hot tubs etc?

Not sure if this will help in the slightest (you never know though lol) but I find that my polish always comes off in patches when I go swimming. It only happens at a public pool though, never in the garden pool I use with the kids in the summer which also has chlorine and anti algae products in it.
