Hi there,

I'm interested in doing an eye lash extension course but first of all I wanted to know if it is a treatment that is up and coming or is it a specialist treatment?

Is there a preferred kit/training or are the warehouse products just as good.

Forgive my ignorance its been a while since I did lash extensions at college.

I'd say that are popular but very expensive.

Eyelash extensions are not up and coming, they have been around for years,
you could call it a specialist treatment because like nails it takes a lot of practise to be good and charge the prices that can charged,

warehouse products are not as a good as the kits provided by established lash companies,

lash extension courses are very different to the lashes that you were taught to apply in college,

due to celebrity's wearing lash extensions and the marketing done by lash companies and lash extensionists clients are much more aware of the treatment and it is very popular,

hth

Recently did an eyelash extension course with nail & beauty systems international and EVERYONE is asking for them perticularly older women which i wasn't really exspecting. would defo reccommend it and it wasn't too exspensive course was €125 and kit was €320. it's very quick and easy to do.. good luck:)

who would be the best for lash courses then?????????

hiya im a newbie been looking at this forum with interest its a great help as a selfempl. beautician it cna b lonely out there....its great11
im doing ylash extension course 2moro n really looking forward 2 it....what is the best brand 2 buy ive been told the difference is the glue product

I only use Ardell lashes, they're 100% human hair. They can look totally nayural (which older wemen love) or you can have all the wild, sparkly ones etc. I've tried other produts (salon services, flair etc) but found they didn't last as long and clients said they felt heavier, with the ardell lashes you can't feel them at all.

As for glues i've only used ardell cause my instructor told be they are the best, and they've been doing what their supposed to so haven't bothered trying anything else (friend tried a few others and ran into loads of trouble, one of her clients came back within an hour cause some fell out!!! don't know if that was down to the glue or my friend but she's back using ardell and come backs yet!)

Warning: They are totally adictive!!! I can't have a night out without them now!!!

Hi

I'm also interested in eyelash extension training. Can anyone recommend a good training course please. I'm willing to travel if necessary.

Thanks, Joy x

These are clump and strip lashes, totally different to the true individual lash that the girls are asking about,
true individual lashes look just like one of your natural lashes that has fallen out, only longer and thicker, hth

Flirties are good,
if you do a search on here you will find some info on them,
they do 1 to 1 training at no extra cost, hth

Yes they're the clump & strip lashes that last 3-4 wks. the others last months don't they?
My course was eyelash extension course, so i've been advertising as eyelash extensions! should i be calling them something else? don't want to mislead people!

I do included on my price list that they last 3-4wks

what's the proper name for both?

Strip lashes are strip lashes, these should last 1 day
cluster lashes are temporary lashes, these should last 4 to 7 days
individual lashes are semi permanent lashes, these can last up to 3 month,
hope that helps Lolita

loubylou
am all confused!

the eyelash extensions i did my course on defiantely last 3-4wks (checked my manual and everything) and have done them on loads of people who all said they lasted well (one only lasted two wks but she used an oil based eye make-up remover, which i told her not to!!)
Is it just a new glue or something, or a new product?

sorry if i sound totally ignorant:smack:
it must be something new if they're advertised as 3-4 wks and the other ones are only 4-7 days.

on a lighter note i did my spray tan course today and have been tangoed!!! the joys of trainong!

Thanks loubylou, chat soon:)

For the cluster lashes to be lasting that long they are providing you with the adhesive for the semi permanent lashes,
this is a bit naughty really,
the adhesive for the cluster lashes is weaker hence why it only lasts around a week,
by fitting cluster lashes with the stronger adhesive so they will stay on longer is in the long run going to cause damage to the natural lash as the cluster is too heavy to be on the natural lash for that long,

im not saying you are in the wrong as this is all down to the training provider supplying you this advise and adhesive,
but hth

oh no, the tango look is not good
who have you trained with hun

hey louby
trained with nail & beauty systems international for lashes, acrylics and tan
that sounds worrying about the glue! i won't be impressed if my lashes fall out!!! that course is on their website if you fancy a nosey!

tan looks a little better today but my palms and wrists are still awfull
I felt sorry for the girl who sprayed me cause first there was a problem with the gun spraying too much so they changed it, and her boss was the one teaching the course so she was very nervous
i was pleased with how i did though, she said i did well! yippee:biggrin:

have my first beauty party booked for next sat (booked before i'd even done the course) thought it was going to be a train wreck but am more confident now, will let you know how it goes and hopefully put up some pics!!

Didn't the trainer show you all how to set up the machine and test the gun before starting to spray each client ?
let me guess NO :rolleyes:
To test the gun you tape up a length of couch roll to a wall or the inside of your spray tent,
spray down the length of couch roll,
then separate the the couch roll (it is 2 ply) the top layer should have a nice even colour down the length where you have sprayed,
the bottom layer should be bone dry with no colour come through at all from the top layer,
when you get this result you are good to go,

then when you are spraying keep your gun straight at all times, no tilting,
keep an even distance following the contours of the body (6 inch away from body) and come away further with gun at ankles and wrists.

Hope this helps with your spray tanning and good luck for your party, i look forward to seeing the pics

I trained with Lash Perfect and I like them, but I also like trying other companies because everyone has some great products...

I have had a look but they dont give much info at all about their adhesive ( i wonder why lol)
the bit that worries me is where they say they are made from real hair, this would be unhygienic and im pretty sure would not be allowed as it would create a big problem with allergic reactions,
did anyone ask where the real hair comes from

all lashes are synthetically made from silk & nylon
