First coat of Calgel?

Hey, i did my calgel course in October time, and love it. in the training they tought us to put the colour gel stright on the nail plate but would it be best to put a clear base on first? iv none other nail tecs to put a clear base on what do you think? x

You can use Calgel colour straight onto the nail plate.I use clear first if someones nails are very weak or they wear them quite long also if they have deep ridges.Really its just getting to know who needs clear first and who doesn't.Also some colours can stain some peoples nails so clear before helps.
