this is similar to princessclaires post. i am in the same postion i just got a job from college. i had my first disaster yesterday i put full head foils of copper highlights into a ladies hair and it blead a bit at the back underneath her hair and a bit at one side underneath. i was too embarrased to say anything so i let her walk out hoping she wouldnt realise. i feel awful now but i dont want to get into bother with my boss. it wasnt very bad but it was bad enough jsut at the top of the hair shaft it had blead where you section. what are the chances of her realising this.i know it wasnt very customer serving of me but i panicked. thanks

:)hi, you really should of told someone, if not the customers , one of your colleuges.... i dont' really understand where you mean it has bled?? the hair shaft is part of the hair structure you see not a part of the head!
it should only really be visible if she ties her hair up... if it is at the sides... the point is that she prob won't come back to the salon again and probably would of done so if you admitted your mistake and corrected it for her.
anyway it's done now, just learn from your mistake and try not to let it stress you for the next set of foils you do. :)

i know it is hard and embarressing to tell the person your mistake but you'll be more embarresed if she comes back and you get in trouble for not saying it when it happened...
sorry if i sound a bit hard,
just dust yourself off and get on with it, and hey she might not of even seen it! fingers crossed
best of luck x

She prob won't notice it where it is. I've seen a lot of people with this coming into the salon, it's when foils slip or the colour is applied too close to the top of the foil. It amazes me how many stylists actually do this :irked:, even with years of practice, so don't worry, you're not alone. Just keep at it and you'll soon have it perfected :green:
Good luck xx

Its quite a common problem. Try applying the tint or bleach more sparingly at the scalp end of the foil. Often at the back the head heat makes it swell which is why it bleeds out of the foil. Also as well as a thinner application ,it can be helpful to add a bit of cornflour to your tint mix to make it a little stickier. Chin up and keep going x

also be carefull when checking your foils..especially bleach this has happened to me once and it was after checking my foils and it bled becasue the foild had slipped slightly.
