How much is the beauty-specific lamp? Is that the one that comes with a small circular fluorescent light fitting that fits around the edge of a magnifying glass?
At a guess, the fact that it's got the integrated magnifying glass is going to make it more of a niche product, hence the expense.
However, if you don't need the magnifying glass, then Ikea do quite a wide range of floor standing lamps; if it were me I'd probably go for a decent wattage of low energy bulb (say 20W, which is equivalent to a 100W incandesent bulb), or perhaps even one of the better quality LED spot lights.
Depending on the sort of work you are doing, you may want to pay attention to the colour temperature of the bulb too. Most domestic fluorescent lights are "warm white", with a correlated colour temperature (CCT) of around 2700K - 3000K, and are designed to mimic the spectrum of a standard incandescent light bulb (so the spectrum contains proportionally more red and yellow light, and less blue light, and has a yellowy tinge to it). But there are also cool white/day light white bulbs available, which have a higher colour temperature (e.g. 5000K) - with a cooler, bluer light which is more representative of the spectrum of daylight - depending on what you need the light for, these may be more suited to you, as they are often used by artists working indoors, for example...
