Funding for new business?

I am halfway through my foundation course with CND and am hoping to do their mani and pedi course as well, to give my self a good kick start when I initially start up a new mobile business. Understandably, this can be an expensive time!!! My husband, while at a management meeting, got talking to their marketing manager about my new endeavor (and about the wonders of Shellac!!! He obviously was listening!!!) and she told him that there are grants out there available for this kind of thing. Just wondered if anyone else had looked into this or received a grant and how they went about it?!?!?

For any sort of Government grant you need to talk to your local BusinessLink (google will help you find them). You will probably have meeting with one of their New Business advisors (all free of charge) and they will offer some guidance and advice on getting going. And they will also let you know about any grants that are available that may be suitable.
