I found that the best gel system is starlight gels. My only promblem is my clients feel a hot stinging pain on their nails the first 10 seconds. Whats cauing this and is there anything I can do to prevent it

This is cause by the gel curing. Its called a heat spike. Try getting your client to start the curing prooess outside the lamp for 10-20 seconds prior to putting the whole hand in or when the client starts to feel the heat get them to take their hand out of the lamp for a few seconds then put them back in.

Layers that are applied too thick can cause this....try building in thinner layers. Thin and damaged nails are also more sensitive to this heat spike than healthy nails. Some gels have less heat spike than others. Also using the right lamp for the gel makes a difference.
