Gel polish and tips, is this a thing?

Hi,
I’ve had an interesting conversation today with a British woman who lives in France. She offers gel polish with tips, so sticks them to the natural nail, blends and files the tip then basecoat and topcoat. Normal gel polish not builder gel. And apparently very short too. Is this a thing? I’m very interested to see if anyone else knows of this!

'Weekend' or 'party nails' was big for a while when Gel Polish was first launched - there's no strength in them hence 'weekend/party' as they'd only last for a weekend/party.

Some unsuspecting clients don't realise that. Some unknowing training techs don't know that, thinking gel polish was strong enough to make enhancements.

They fell out of fashion pretty quickly
