Hi all!

I did a gel polish (using IBD Diva Collection) the other day, and two days later, my client asked me to remove them as she felt they were too thick. She said they felt heavy (she'd never worn any sort of enhancement before). I didn't think they looked thick, but she's an old friend and I wanted to make sure she was happy.

I did:
bonder
layer of clear gel (thin)
2 layers of gel polish - needed 2 coats for coverage
another thin layer of clear
gloss top coat

Am I wrong in thinking the colour needs to be "sandwiched" by clear? Can I omit these layers or am I just missing a trick here?

Any advice is appreciated!
Thanks
Dawn

Hi Dawn,

What you did is excatly what I do, bar the last clear layre, id just use intenses seal. But I dont see that making them too thick! My sister is like that, she says she doesnt like the 'feel' of enhancements, I cant say I notice a 'feel' and havent had anyone else comment, but it's up to her whether she wants them or not

Hi this is precisely what I do also.
Base
x2 colour for coverage (sometimes 3 layers) - apply layers very thin...
Evergloss (this gel also cures under the uv lamp). Brilliant shine for at least 5-6 weeks.
No need for any futher top coats / sealers.
