I have used both gel sealer topcoat, and a UV brightener topcoat on clients. I personally love the brightness a UV one gives to the free edge on french acrylic, but the downside is you do have to reapply it after about a week. This is not a problem for me as after buffing it brightens up the whites again, and makes them look fresh again.

I find that a gel sealer topcoat dulls the whites slightly, and discolours quickly.

I had my own nails done in a salon, because I love having someone else do them for me, and I can't do my right hand myself properly. After a week, the whites have started to look dull, so I am going to file the gel sealer off, and apply a UV sealer topcoat to make them look white again.

I can't expect my clients to have to do that with a gel sealer topcoat, but this does last longer than a UV sealer topcoat.

My clients have said they prefer the UV sealer for the brightness, but that the gel gives them long lasting shine.

I have had myself more compliments on my nails when using the UV sealer than with the gel sealer.

If my clients have the UV brightener, this means they will have to reapply after a week also. The topcoat I use costs about £7. Does anyone know where I can buy one say wholesale, cheaper? I would like to offer it to clients who prefer the UV sealer to buy to take home with them to keep their nails looking fresh and bright, but think the price would put them off. I currently buy from Young Nails.

I always use Air Dry from CND and I retail to every client so they can use it at home.

I use NSI Glaze n go gel top coat,Ive had comments from clients saying how shinny they still are after 2 weeks .

I used to use UV sealer topcoat which looked great but shine didnt last and reacted with suntan lotion, totally melted my cousins's nails on the beach into a gooey sticky mess, so stopped using that! I now use NSI Glaze n Go on top of all my enhancements and the shine lasts, still there at 3 week infill appointment it's great. No need to buff nail, just make sure you file your enhancement into shape with no finer than a 180grit file as Glaze n Go is a gel and needs something to grip to, apply like a polish and leaves no sticky residue to wipe off.
