What would you suggest to tone down the brassiness in this clients hair? The client is a friend who did their own highlights and now they find them too brassy. The client desires a much ashier look, neutralizing all warm tones. They want to keep it in the level 7 or level 6 range, not go too dark. The client doesn’t really want highlights anymore, they just want a single process to fix it.

I work with wella products. Should I just color over it using permanent colour and 20 volume or should I use something like color touch to tone it down?

20vol is going to create lift, so the natural colour inbetween the highlights will then be warmer.....
Colour touch will definitely be a better choice.
7/89 + 6/71 is a nice cool colour. If you want a natural colour 6/71 on it own is nice.

Thanks. All would be processed with 1.9 % right?

I notice they also talk about 4% in the materials. Is that for when there is a lot of whites and/or regrowth mostly?
