GHD thermal protect oil and intense conditioners??

Hi, sorry im really a nail geek but just wondered if any hair pro's could give me some advice please. I use GHD straighteners on my hair every other day, and me hair is getting very dry and lacking shine, just wondered are the GHD products good to help my hair or is there anything you can recommend?? I have heard the GHD prods can make hair a bit heavy, do you agree with this??? I hate the tacky or heavy feeling of products on my hair.
I see lots of girls around with poker straight, shiney, flickable hair and im very jealous, they must use straighteners to get this effect but their hair looks such good condition.

Any tips please, sorry again for jumping in this forum.
