Hi Geeks

I just wondered it anyone uses Gigi hot wax. If so what do you think of it and do they run advanced waxing courses?

Or can anyone recommed a good advanced waxing course?

Thanks :) x

I tried Gigi hard wax at home just for myself and it's horrible! It's supposed to be gentle on the skin and it ripped my face apart! Not to mention it sets up so quickly it breaks intp pieces if you let it sit there too long.

Berins is the best in my opinion. Has great tech support as well. They have training and an awesome video that is a must have for any waxer, new or experienced. Pricy, but well worth it! :)

Perron Rigot wax is in my opinion, the best wax ever made. I specialise in Intimate waxing for men and women and run my own accredited courses (BABTAC). If there was a better wax, I'd use it.

With training, be very careful that you check out the trainer.....forget about the wax. My courses are teaching my techniques and not to sell wax. You can go on to use any wax that you like.

Also, don't be swayed by trainers who say they've been trained by another trainer. I know for a fact of one company that sell all of their training based on that, yet not one of them were trained by the person concerned (fact)......it's all a sales pitch and against trading standards.

Don't believe the hype. Ask lots of questions and do your homework.

I agree with everything you have said, very sensible advice I'd say about training, and also your comments on the types of wax, but like you Kim I swear by Perron Rigot waxes. regds Phil

Hi there - just to reiterate everything here really....
I actually did my intimate training with Gigi wax and have to say it worked my nerves somewhat at the time, mainly because it was a different wax to what I was used to and I let it bog me down. Looking back the techniques I covered in my training were invaluable regardless of wax - I see this now!
I know having a good/familiar product gives you confidence to perform (but like Kim says) make quality of training your decision maker - that way you'll have all waxes at your disposal when the time comes and be able to make an informed wax choice :)

I am not sure which company you are referring to here Kim but for my position, I was and have been trained by two trainers before embarking on my career as a wax trainer - fact.

However, I agree with what Kim has said in the main, you are free to use whatever wax floats your boat, but make sure that the course you embark on is accredited which will ensure you are able to secure insurance for your waxing services.

I can't and wouldn't say on a public board which company it is.....it would be very unprofessional to do so on here. There is a world outside Salon Geek.

No, this company advertise and sell their training based on their trainers all having been trained by this person and not one of them were trained by them......fact.
