Hi all

I have attempted to apply some pink glitter acrylic today and I am having some trouble with the side walls. I keep filing off the colour/glitter on the the side walls around the free edge. I cant seem to get the edges right without them looking fat and bulky! Is this normal to leave them a little thicker with glitter or colour acrylic? The nails i was working on are badly bitten so had to apply tips and she wanted a pink glitter over the free edge and covering acrylic of zone 2 & 3. The tips i used were slightly thick which didnt help but i'm just after any advice on this as i'm new to trying to create white, glitter or colour free egde.

Thanks in advance

Hiya, I usually sculpt so don't have this problem with glitter tips, But if I do have to use tips I like to use the clear ones so you get the glitter effect on the underside too, I just love that look. You need to keep the side walls in a bit before you apply your acrylic so if you visualise what it will look like before you start to apply and bring them in a little to begin with. Also make sure if you are mixing your own mix of glitter and acrylic to mix it 1 part glitter to 3 parts acrylic and cap in clear which will help with filing away the glitter. I'm sure others will be along to add some more tips but I hope this helps a little. Claire x

thanks for reply claire. I think i should have thinned tips a bit better before hand. i was probably just a bit heavy handed with my file too!! Must try harder next time. I didnt expect it to feel so different to apply and spread either.

Anyway, thanks for taking time to reply xx
