I have been barbering for the last 17yrs. I have been told that I am brilliant at it, (their words, not mine:biggrin:)

Anyhow, I am not a trainer. I own my own salon, well, this is my third one. But loads of people ask me to show them how to use clippers properly, blending, scissor over comb, etc. As I have not done the teaching qualification, I can't go to college and do it, (don't have time), but as a business person, I have seriously thought about going to salons and teaching my skills in this field. Loads of good hairdressers, but they are afraid of using clippers:wink2:

Instead of having to travel far a field, I thought I would travel to salons, charge a basic fee, milage over 30 miles, then spend the whole day, (not half a day like some places that you go to!) I have been to a course on upstyles, it started at 10.30am - 3pm. In reality, it started at 10.45, 1hr for lunch and then people left at 2.15 in case they had to pick up children! So a full day was paid for, not:twisted: I would start at 9 and finish at 5, just as a salon would:D
So, what are your opinions on this venture, would you use me?

I think it sounds like a great idea. A qualified hairdresser doesnt need a formal qualification in mens hair, and I agree it is an area that a lot of stylists are weak.

Great idea, so best of luck x

I agree. I think it's a great idea.

They don't teach it in any college that I know of,and it is a great skill to have.

Good luck!! :D

It sounds fab. Let me know when you are doing this, I am in the North East and I would love to do a men's barbering course. I was planning to trek down to Wahl in Kent. :(
