Hopefully this link works, Facebook
Anyway, this was my first project for uni (photography) and has had the best feedback as my tutors are intrigued about the way we use hair as a medium of sculpture.. which of course would seem normal to us but apparently its innovative to academics ha.
Ive been advised to continue this theme in my next project, however im a bit unsure how to progress. I want to start making really big sculptural pieces to photograph and kindof advertise my hairdressing skills too.. the images of just hair were done using extension wefts not on a block or anything so its pretty difficult to build up a dramatic 3d shape.
I reckon I'm going to buy a block so then i can colour/style it into whatever i want instead of using models cos obviously theres limitations in what they would let me do colour wise, and the photos would focus solely on the hair and not include any kind of face.
Anyone got any ideas/ feedback on how i could progress? Would be much appreciated x

cant wait to see, your link doesnt work thou x

balls, here you go.

these are gorgeous! xoxo

oohh they're gorgeous! i can't offer much advice, i'm just in my 2nd year at college but i'm working on my long hair design unit at the moment,i've picked up some great tips for avant garde hair on scissor boy, Errol Douglas has some outstanding tips and designs too and of course the lovely geeks on here have been extremely helpful too! i'm working on a vivienne westwood inspired style just now that involves moulding hair around a blown up balloon and once its set, popping the balloon so you have a sphere(that in theory you should be able to see through if photographed against a light background).best of luck lovie xx

Ahh scissor boy, totally forgot about that. I also remembered i'd done some hair matting at college so will set about making a big sheet of that.
Your vivian westwood idea sounds awesome, would love to see it when youre finished, ta for the suggestions :)
