Hair extension shine advice - clip ins

Hi all

I have a work do to attend and it's black tie. I've got a beautiful dress to wear and long hair would look amazing with it. Unfortunately I had to have my locks chopped off after having kids as it used to fall out.

So.... I got some clip in extensions and had them matched to my hair.

The thing I don't understand I'd that the hair is quite shiny. Not plastic shiney but a sheen.

The hair is human hair- Indian hair? Any ideas how to get rid of some of the shine?

Try giving them a wash and straighten only thing I can think of x
