Hi, I hope any of you other therapists can give me any advice on my future as a therapist. After owning my own salon for 9 years, and due to having the children moved onto becoming a sucessful mobile therapist for 8 years!, (i am not telling you my age, but im sure you can work it out!) I have also lectured at the local college, and also ran private courses through adult education, is it time to change career completely or go back to teaching/another salon. The old bones cant keep lugging my equipment round houses for much longer! Any ideas on a career move??

what did you enjoy most salon or teaching? or what about a home salon or renting space somewhere hth xx

Good question! I enjoy being with my clients, and now have the luxury of no weekends and work revolves around the kids not the other way round, as I am my own boss. Teaching was good, but not as flexible, and I enjoyed passing on my experience - I have wondered about doing other courses or training as an assessor, but im not sure how to go about that!! :rolleyes:perhaps i should give it all up and become a train driver or astronaut!!

If you contact your local college they can point you in the right direction for taking the A1 course for assessing if you don't have it already. If you already hold your A1 then you could assess freelance. There are agencies on the web that you can register with.

thanks for the advice :)
