Hi I've got a lady wanting shellac on her natural nails but she had a acrylic overlay on her thumb as it cracked really low so I put it on last week. Will it be ok to put the shellac on the overlay help lol xx

Hi Hun

From what I understand you can do your shellac manicure over the overlay, the problem comes when you remove the shellac as the acetone in the dsolve can cause problems understandbly for the overlay.

I'm sure someone will be along shortly to better explain how to remove it. xxxx

You certainly can put Shellac over an acrylic overlay. I do it to my own nails all the time. The difference is you need no base coat for application. You start with the color coat. Everything else is the same until you come to removal. Since it's acrylic, unless you're soaking off the acrylic, you'll remove the Shellac by filing it off. That's it. :D

Thank u so much x
