Okay so here's my question. I have been swamped with work the past two weeks and the esthetician has been very slow, so once in a while in between my clients she will help me clean up my station. Maybe it's a stupid question, but should I give her some of my tips? Or am I too nice. I am new to all this. Thanks geeks.

I think some nice gesture would be appropriate.

Money is usually what people appreciate the most. An amount that is not over the top and nothing that makes you look stingy. But if you feel you will begrudge it later on (if she keeps helping you) and that money sets a precedent for the future that may cause a problem then maybe just a nice small gift would be better for this first time ... then see how it goes.

I would say the most important thing is to show that you appreciate it. Always make a point of thanking her, not just at the time, but go out of your way to say it again later (ie at lunch time/ the end of the day). Something little, like an inexpensive present or buying her lunch one day.
If there is anything you can do to boost her clientelle, like putting her price list at your desk, that'd be nice................and of course make sure you return the favour if you have the opportunity.

Thanks ladies. I thought I should do something. I thank her all the time but that didn't seem like enough. My boss and her and myself are all going to the IBS in New York Sunday, and I know she dosen't have a lot of money, so I think I will buy her dinner after the show. I like the idea about putting her service list on my desk too.

So thanks again ladies. :)
