Home salon sign

For those of you with a home salon have you got a small sign? Where have you placed it? What is it made from?

The reason I ask is because the council have said its fine for me to work from home without a change of use (I only have 2 or 3 clients a day) but I don't want to push my luck with a large sign. I have a small slightly naff sign from vistaprint on my gate (which I'm thinking of changing to a brass or glass one). The sign is mainly for new clients, so they know they are at the right house, but I have got a few new clients from it too.

Just intersted in what others have got.

I was told that you have to get planning for any sign even if it is on your property. I guess it will only be a problem if someone complains. How about having something that isn't a sign but is easily identified by your clients, like a statue or an unusual tree. It would be a talking point too!
