I wonder if anyone has any recommendations please? I would like a software package for my home salon, so nothing too big and fancy as it is just me! Oh and needs to be cheap! I would like something that has the ability to show me what my clients spends are broken down into treatments and products, their yearly spend, how much I've done of treatments and retail etc, also basic accounts that links in with this would be good. The abillity to text or send out mailings could be good for me too! Not actually bothered at this stage about appointments as I like good old fashioned pencil and diary as I'm normally out and about when people want to book appointments or change them and not near the computer! Any ideas gratefully recieved, thank you! x

Hi There

I dont have an appointment booking system but I subscribe to an online accounting facility that shows me all my different totals etc for treatments. The one I use is called Kashflow.

I had to tailor the info a bit which obviously takes a bit of time and care when inputting your takings, but I like everything to be in one place. All my customer details, totals etc and totals for specific treatments as well as suppliers details and supplier spend totals.

It doesnt allow me to send out emails etc to clients as its more of a books system but being a small concern I find it works fine.

There are many others available but they seemed a little high priced for me at the time and now I am used to my system and am too lazy to switch lol

As far as one with client emailing capapbility, I know that Ruth from Salon Alchemy is currently working on an affordable system built for salons and home salons etc. It is an appointment booking system but does have other features too so may be worth a look to ask what features it exactly has.

Hello,

We provide a low-cost but fully-featured product that might be up your street - we developed it originally for our own salons because the price of stuff out there was too high for us and we just happened to have some very good programmer friends!

It does pretty much everything you mention and you can download a month's free trial at www.salonswift.com if you'd like to have a go with it.

It costs £20 a week and there's no upfront costs. That price covers everything such as updates, backups to our servers, support, training, etc. There's no lock-in contract either so there's never any commitment, you just let us know if you've changed your mind.

I hope you do find it useful,

Guy
