How much notice to give...?

Hi,

I just wondered if anyone could give me their thoughts and opinions on this...

Since August we have been renting space in a tanning salon (front window and back room), we pay a fixed amount of rent weekly per space.

We have decided to give up the back room for various reasons but as we do not have a written contract (I know this is VERY silly and is something i definately aim to sort out in the new year) and have never discussed notice periods with the salon owner we're wondering what would be a fair notice period.

We plan to give notice on Mon.

i would say a month to be fair on the tanning salon, this will give them time to find someone to rent the space
