Hi,

Forgive me if this is a silly question, however i just had a full set of acrylics done and was charged $35 dollars I left a $4 dollar tip. Is that the average tip MOST people would leave in this senario?

I'm just curious, I'm no so good with such issues!

It all depends. In Quebec (where I live) the general rule of thumb is to tip the amount of the tax (which in Quebec is 13%). But it also depends on if you are happy with the service or not. Some people tip more, some less. Whatever your comfortable with.

I always give 20-25% but I tend to over tip. Personally, I feel that folks who depend on tips as part of their income tend to tip more. :)

Agreed! Before I started in the nail industry I spent most of my working life in the food service industry - and I can tell you from experience, those who know the true value of a tip, really do tend to tip more.

In the UK it is fairly rare to even get a tip and most people will not tip if you are a sole trader but may be more generous to the tech who is employed.

When I ran my own business I was happy to get anything no matter how little or much.
