How to stick on diamontes

I've acrylic nails on and painted a neon pink colour. Now I want to add some sparkley dimontes. Can anyone tell me what's best to use please? I was going to try the same nail glue that I use to stick on nail tips but maybe not? Clear nail polish won't be strong enough...
