My colleague is colouring my hair soon and I really, really love this, but we can't figure out the best way to go about it. My hair now is about a 6 with golden highlights/ballayage mixed in.

My colleague reckons the best way for him to do it is to bleach all the ends as white as they'll go and then colour my roots a dark ashy brown, using back combing to stop a harsh line, then my roots will blend in a bit when they grow, and just put a toner on the ends and then that way I can switch the colour up as and when I feel like it with other toners, or let it fade to white blonde.

I think this might end up a bit harsh of a contrast between the roots and light tips...

What would you recommend?
