Hi there, hair advice needed please. My friend has very fine hair, and uses shop bought colour. She recently changed from Loreal to John Freida, but the colour has gone a lot darker than anticipated. She is usually a golden blonde, but is now a golden brown/mahogany red! She has asked if she can put her normal loreal golden blonde on top of it? Would this make her hair pink/ginger and should she go lighter than normal? I did suggest bleech may be her answer, but it is so fine and weak…. please help. Thank you, Liane.

Puttin her usual colour on top isn't going to help at all.
The best thing she can do is go to a hairdresser and have it corrected.

Hi Lauren, thanks for your reply. But please could you explain why using another colour wouldn't work? Thanks, Liane

First of all tint won't lift tint, so putting a dark blonde over a brown won't lighten it.
Gold won't kill red tones so it'll still have red tones to it.

That's grand, thank you very much for your help! I think she is going to let it fade, it doesn't look bad, just darker than she expected that's all. Thank you. Liane
