IPL hair removal on fair skin?

Hello,

I'm seriously considering getting Hollywood IPL hair removal as fed up of waxing and ingrown hairs etc. I am quite fair and have been told the results aren't normally as good although the hair is quite corse.... Does anyone have any info or experience from it?

Fair hair does not absorb as much light energy as darker hair, so there is less energy penetrating to the hair bulb and less damage done.

Fair hair is a pain in the bum to treat, as you would on average need more session-time than a darker haired person.

Take a look at using diode lasers instead of IPL. Diodes penetrate deeper so maybe 80% of the initial energy reaches the follicle, instead of 60% for IPL.
