layering gelish colors

Hi everyone
I'm looking for some help in layering gelish colors...which ones to layer and what colors they turn out ?

I have 24 colors in Gelish and trying to build my kit till i have them all
If anyone can give me some tips on which colors to layer together and how u layer.
I have my samples nails on a stick for color choices already butthought it would be good to see what other colors i can create by layering.
I painted caution on one my sample nails and layered Good Gossip on top it turned out like a deep purple color with the glitter showing through...its pretty but i think maybe i should have done one coat of caution one coat of good gossip and repeat it again...can anyone tell me what the correct way of layering is done ?
