hey everyone i was going to attend an open evening at my local college tonight to ask a few questions about the course and enrol but i cant due to not feeling too good, i was wondering if any of you can help me and give me some info what kind of things will be included...the things listed are underneath i was wondering if id be doing nail treatments, facials etc please help as im unsure what ill be doing if i enrol...thanks :)

You cover both the practice and theory of beauty therapy, undertaking all the basic skill areas including:
  • Face & Eye Treatments
  • Health & Safety
  • Make-up Techniques
  • Manicure & Pedicure
  • Retail
  • Salon Reception
  • Team Work & Customer Service
  • Waxing

  • Face & Eye Treatments Generally this covers facials, facial massage, eyebrow shaping, lash & brow tinting, maybe eyelash perming
  • Health & Safety essential, covers how to store your equipment and products, what to do in an emergency etc (loads more than this but can't be bothered to write the whole lot down!)
  • Make-up Techniques Applying makeup on others to suit a range of skin types and situations, such as bridal, day and evening
  • Manicure & Pedicure Explains itself!
  • Retail Of professional products, to suit your clients needs
  • Salon Reception Experience in booking in treatments with different therapists, telephone manner, customer service
  • Team Work & Customer Service
  • Waxing Legs, underarms, bikini, lip, eyebrows, chin, possibly chest and back, and probably brazilian.
You'll have to do all the treatments on other members of the class to get practise, and you'll have to experience everything yourself too, then you'll be assessed on paying members of the public.

It really is best to go and have a chat to them there though, i've only given you a brief overview of what's included, and not mentioned the exams, coursework, paperwork, theory, science lessons etc!!

If you decide to go ahead, good luck, and we will be here to support you.

I'm not too sure. Maybe just use a moisturiser? If its really bad then I think you might need to get a doctor to prescribe you one.

i use coca butter moisturiser which is pretty good but still leaves me with a few dry patches unless i propper layer it on lol and ive got some ezema cream but i just didnt know if there was any beauty products which could make my skin look healthier and smooth

Hi hi

I think if you havnt been already, go and pay your doctor a visit and they will give you some idea of what ingredents should or shouldnt be used with your skin as there are different levels of ezema and go a trained and experienced therapist...THEN will point you in the right direction. You don't to want to use a product which will irritate your skin if it's bad already. hth :)

xoxox.

thanks for the advice hun :)
