Hi,

I'm new to this site today and fairly new to nails although I did complete my course 4 yrs ago I have just started working as a nail tech full time, renting a space in a salon. I currently use Bio sculpture for overlays and hav'nt a prob with them most of the time, my clients love it although this is a very expensive gel would any one know of a cheaper alternative thats just as good? or am i living in a dream world? Also i am having probs with finding a good system to use for tip extentions as i'm still not 100% with L&P and the gel i'm using seems to be lifting on every client, I know you have to be thorough with the prep which i am(i think) and spend quite alot of time doing. I am so confused and fed up of paying out all the time to try different systems. Has anyone used acrygel before? if so what is it like?:|

Have you tried Brisa its a brillant gel and I can honestly say its fab to work with :)

Hiya no not tried brisa, i have heard good things about it though, the only thing that puts me off using gel is the fact that you have to buff off which i did with a client the other day as the lifting was so bad by the time i had taken it off her nails did'nt look very good:rolleyes:!

You will have to explain to me WHY your clients love your system so much if as you say, it is lifting on nearly all of them. Then you say you haven't a problem most of the time when it sounds as if you are experiencing problems a majority of the time!! I am confused.

Rather than just try different systems to solve your problems I think more education is in order to end your confusion. I don't think any new product will solve what is a fundamental problem without more education.

As far as Acrygel is concerned, do a search on here and see what others say.

My advice should you decide to change your supplier is to contact and Try CND for both Brisa Gel and L&P ... 08452106060 will send you details of educators near to you. You cannot beat this product but it still requires more education in order to use it to the best potential.

Clients will simply not put up with lifting and will go elsewhere if you don't get it sorted asap.

Hi, sorry to confuse you! I am ok with bio sculpture overlays but i use Ez Flow gel it gor tips which is where i am getting problems? x

I have used Bio Sculpture and IMO prep didn't have to be quite so thorough as with non soak off gels...In some cases prep was minimal...Bio rarely lifts, but neither me or my clients liked the soaking off all the time or the discolouring that can occur with french.

My point is that maybe it is down to your prep, if you are used to Bio and prep for Bio then your prep for a non soak gel may need tweeking....what is your prep routine...?
