A client of mine pointed out that within a Magazine article for L'Oreal Mascara (one with Penelope Cruz with v gorgeous lashes) the ad states.. Penelope wears lash extensions with L'oreal Mascara.
Does this mean that the Mascara is suitable for lash extensions? My assumption is no but I wondered what you thought....

Hi,
There was an article about this fairly recently on a "watchdog" type programme.
Basically, the manufacturers of mascaras were photographing their models/celebrities and using lash inserts to give the fuller/longer lash look. This was misleading the consumer into thinking that the mascara made the lashes look fabulous when it was actually the inserts. The advertising standards agency got involved and the companies are now legally obliged to mention on the ad that lash inserts have been used.

This is why you will now see (in teeny, WEENY writing), .."Penelope has been photographed using lash inserts" etc
It doesn't mean the mascara is suitable for inserts.
Hope that all makes sense!
Elaine
