Does sports also qualify him in normal Swedish or deep tissue massage?

Male waxing would men not prefer a lady or is that quite normal a male to wax another males private areas? I haven't got much knowledge in intimate waxing. Thank you

Good question!

Personally I will happily visit a male or female therapist for intimate waxing – most important is a good hair removal treatment!

To be honest if you'd asked me that question six years ago, before I began modelling for Andy and his students, I would have said I'd prefer a lady. But now, having been waxed by Andy (best intimate waxing I've ever experienced) and had many male students practising on me, I don't mind either way :)

Hey, you could both train with him – you wouldn't be the first couple he has trained!

Man or woman... Doesn't bother me.

I'm obviously female but wouldn't give two hoots about a man waxing my parts. As long as I got a great wax - who's to judge? Lol. My OH sees a man to get waxed as he said a female would be awkward - I don't see why (mans logic) xx

Is your boyfriend more massage or beauty orientated? I suppose that also matters before choosing his next step in training

You all seem very open to male male and female therapists and intimate waxing we work in a small rural village whether that males a difference I'm not sure. He's more massage but would like to do beauty. :)

I would think that most men who have waxing do not have intimate waxing in the same way that not all women want everything taken off.

As a massage therapist he will have found some clients don't want to see a guy (both male and female) but most don't care, and some would prefer to see a guy.

The same is for waxing, and fortunately lots of guys feel more comfortable with male therapists for their waxing appointments. You can do a basic beginners course for basic waxing, a basic course specifically for male waxing, or a two day basic and advanced (intimate waxing) course.

Lots of options available and he won't look back, and will recover costs very quickly.

The best thing about waxing is guys keep coming back every month as the hair grows back. With massage I found lots of clients stop once a problem is sorted.

Best thing I did for my massage business was to specialise in male waxing!

I'd love to employ a male therapist for more than Sports Massage but we also work in a very conservative area. I think you are right to feel cautious. One of my therapists name sounds as though it might be a man's name and we get lots of squeaks of anxiety on the phone.

I'd suggest that the least controversial treatment would be pedicures. You can demonstrate your massage skills and attention to detail. You can throw in a free foot or toe wax to introduce the idea of a chap who can wax. Your ladies can ask questions about what else your chap does and he can get some useful feedback on what is taboo and what is worth considering. Once your ladies have had a pedi they will feel a lot more relaxed about trying other male therapist delivered treatments.

Other options would be brow shaping and lash extensions/lifts - think how many great male hairdressers there are.

I would suggest that he considers waxing. As others have said its a great business.

When I started waxing I was offering a full range of male grooming treatments including massage, facials, scrubs etc and to begin with out was a fairly equal split with the range of treatments that clients booked.

Then over time the waxing became much more popular so I now only offer male waxing and have other therapists that help me out. I have male and female therapists and clients book more with male for intimate waxing but equally when some of my regulars are looking to book in and I don't have any availability they are happy to see a female therapist.

Male waxing has become a great business and if it's offered correctly with good aftercare advice and access to good retail products or information on what to buy on the high street then male clients will be very loyal...

Good luck and hope he finds something that works for him.

He really has nothing to lose by doing it.A basic good wax course does not break the bank.Once he is doing chests and backs etc he may find he gets requests for intimate and then can add that on to his treatment skills.

Thank you all who has replied. You are all so helpful. We have decided upon a hot stone massage course for now. As although you have all convinced me about the male waxing I'm still not sure that it would suit the clientelle in which we work with. I just feel it may not interest them. You are all a great! Any other suggestions would also be appreciated. X

Just to keep you all up to date. He is studying hot stone therapy at present. Anybody thought of adding allergy testing to their treatment list?
