Hi everyone, I have booked myself in for a md formulations prescription facial this week, I have not had this brand of facial before or used their products.

Just wondered if anyone can tell me what they think of md formulations products and also if they can tell me what happens in this particular facial?
many thanks

hi joanne,

i trained with md formulations a while ago and really enjoyed working with their products and the results i got with them.

this brand are perhaps most famous for their glycolic peels (although i doubt this is what you will be booked in for as when i trained, clients were advised to use one of their glycolic based cleansers for two weeks prior to the appointment to acclimatize their skin to the product - things may have changed since then though so don't quote me!:o)

in my opinion, the products are great (i still use the exfoliator!) but please never be too shy to phone up the salon and ask exactly whats involved in your treatment xxx

Hi, thanks so much for reply, yes this facial is the one for people that have not had a chance to use their cleansers before.

I am abit worried as I only use very gentle cleansers on my skin as it is sensitive but spot prone so when I heard gycolic acid it has worried me abit as it sounds very harsh?

a prescription facial is exactly what it says, its basically a starter facial to introduce you to the products its still a relaxing facial but a little basic. md isnt a luxury skin care brand its a clinical brand focusing on results. dont worry about your skin being sensitive the sensitive range is fantastic for this it stiil contains glycolic but it works 9 hrs slower than the normal products it will work to strenghten and protect your skin. i think its a fantastic range with brilliant results, i would defo rec purchasing the products when the therapist does your prescription x

Yes am now really looking forward to it, I suffer from spots under the skin, I am 32 and for some time I have been using doctors prescription benzoyl peroxide, this does work at keeping the spots away but I absolutely hate using this on my face as I am worried about the long term effects it will have on my skin as I have heard that this really thins your skin.

I am looking for a good skincare line that will help combat spots so that I dont have to keep using the benzyol peroxide but really need something that is gentle as well, lots of cleansers etc just aggravate my skin and make spots worse xx

Hi can anyone help me to get in touch with MD Formulations as really want to speak to a rep and find out about getting the products in the salon. Have searched the web high and low but cannot find any contacts for them
Thanks :)

I have a feeling that they're associated with bare minerals...
