Hi there

I did a spray tan party last night and used LA Tan solution on about four of the customers. One of the ladies went green. She was adamant that she had nothing on her skin so came to the conclusion that it must have been down to the medication she was taking.

Will the tan still develop as normal and the green wash off when she showers this morning?

Should I have told her off wash it off as soon as she got home last night?

Hi,

From my experience it sounds like she probably showered and did not rinse off all the shower gel/soap etc, but of course she probably swore black was white that that was not the case. I wouldnt worry to much about it, when she rinses it off this morning she'll probably be a lovely colour. Either that or she'll look like the incredible hulk for a while:green:. If you explained that some medication can have an effect on the tan and she still chose to go ahead with the tan then you're covered.

Keep us posted

Well, I spoke to her this morning and the green has disappeared which is good. She said that she has a slight tinge of grey on her stomach but doesn't think that is down to the solution but her skin does tend to go like that in the first stages of a tan when she is on holiday.

Everyone else that I sprayed with the same solution are really happy with it, so it's definitely not the solution.

Thanks x

It is not the solution and it is not the meds,
medication would not make it go green, only something that has been left on the skin will do this and it is usually anything with perfume's in due to the alcohol content,
medications which affect the hormones will possibly give a paler tan or a patchy tan but the patchiness is rare, it is more likely for the tan to develop paler than it usually would on that person, hth

Thanks Louise

I think she is a bit paler than she thought she would be so this could be down to the medication.

This happened to me to yesterday, I had a tanning party in the afternoon (alright for some!!), I sprayed 5 girls and one of the girls her tummy started to go green but it didn't happen to any of the others. I asked her if she had any products on the skin, meds etc at consultation and she said no. I told her it should come off when she showered, I've not heard anyhting back so i'm presuming it did. x

Hi Girls,

I have been spray tanning for nearly 5 years now. The two reasons for clients turning green are usuall something that is on the skin such as:

deoderant
perfume
facewipes (some leave a residue)

or its hormonal, you'll find a lot of pregnant women go green especially around the stomach and feet, this can also be the same for women who are around the time of their period.

I have always contacting the client the morning after to check on the colour and so far its turned out fine.
