Hey geeks,
I'm looking into offering a microdermabrasion service in the salon, but I don't know an awful lot about it, except that the machines are well expensive!
I was wondering, do you have to use the company's skincare products, or can you use your own? (I use Eve Taylor in the salon).

Also, what does the treatment actually involve? I wanna get the truth from geeks first, before I contact the companies and hear how their system is 'the best on the market today!'

I was looking at crystal clear or dermalift.
Is it even worth considering?

Your thoughts are, as always, invaluable to me.

Microdermabrasion is an excellent treatment IF performed correctly AND using the appropriate machine. I can tell you which are NOT worth the money, PM me.

I offer medical microdermabrasion, which is far more effective that certain types. It is also important to ensure realistic expectations. A one off treatment is not really going to achieve much in terms of therapeutic use. I would always recommend a course, particularly in treating acne and scarring of at least 6/8 treatments, along with appropriate skin care and maintenance of one every 4/6 weeks. I will not treat someone if they are expecting me to dramatically change their skin overnight. It is important to stress it is a two way thing!

Six of my microdermabrasion procedures is equivalent to a 70% glycolic peel - but therefore MUST be used with care and respect, it is also 8 times more effective than certain makes of machines! Lots of research required.

It is fantastic for oily skin/acne conditions/acne scarring/blackheads and whiteheads, dry skin and superficial age spots - but I stress - must be treated as a course. For an instant refresher a one off can be beneficial.

We just bought a caci ultimate which does dermabraision. It's already the most popular treatment in salon to the point that in the fisrt month we are halfway to recouping the entire cost of the machine.
