I get migrains usally around that time. But sometimes it comes along with working too much too long. Taking time to eat is very important. Try to snack between clients. It might help if you take a breather for a few minutes.

I must learn to do that, even a sip of water and some crackers is an improvement for me. We work ourselves to the bones now and again dont we?

did you know ladies, that, when you have a migraine, yes, a real migraine, not a bad headache, your lower intenstine shuts down, for some reason,,,,,,,,,,
i have suffered from these since the age of 16/17, and been back and fourth to a specialist for years, whom, found that, as i am first born, its first born on my fathers side that have these, plus, foods do not trigger it, nor drinks, but hormonal bigtime, and too much sleep, and lack of sleep..........
i do find that using the monomer causes a sinus type of migraine that last for 2-3 days!!!!! i put qa thread on this before, asking if different monomers affect people, and, i know one lady that changed brands and re trained because of her old monomer...................has any one else found this

Exactly! Many who simply just have a bad headache, claim it's a migraine and truly don't know otherwise as they've never had one. A migraine is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY worse than a headache from a hangover.
When I have a migraine, my husband has to leave the house with the kids. Even if they are quiet in the basement, I can hear them two floors up and it bother's my migraine. A headache.. I can function no problem. No fun, but no problem. I once had to leave my home as the kids playing in the street were aggrivating my migraine even though my window's were CLOSED.
A migraine is debillatating (sp?) and crippling.
I've had migraines that were far worse than the birth of either of my children.
YES I would chose childbirth over a migraine:!: :!: :!: (and you REALLY dont want to know how hellish the first one was! 2.5days of labour..... 4.5hrs of pushing.. yeah, and much worse)

It wasn't until 2yrs ago when my husband had his very first migraine that he truly understood. He used to patronize me, and say 'just take some tylenol'. Now, he does whatever is possible to help me.

Note: I have found a trick that helps me. Ask a friend/hubby or whatever, to firmly massage my feet. You know that spot, under your toes, between the two balls at the front of your feet? Ask them to use the pads of their thumbs and to massage FIRMLY 15 min each or more if they can... I dont know if it's accupressure, I dont know if it's the distraction from the pain, I dont know if it's because it helps you relax, or all of the above.
I just know it helps me tremendously while I wait for my meds to kick in (which reminds me, need to call dr for new script)

what do you have prescribed

Migraines are a part of my life too. :irked: Anyone who knows me is aware that I am a migraine sufferer. When they happen my husband takes over with the kids, my clients are cancelled and i go to bed. Luckily they dont happen frequently any more (about twice a year) and only last 24 hours. I take triptans too and they make them much more bearable.

Doing nails has not increased my migraines, mine seem to occur when I am keyed up or excited about something - I have had several on christmas day!

If I had one wish in life it would be to rid the world of headaches and migraines!

yep, win the lottery,,,,,,,,,,no, never have another migraine, yes:idea:
what prescribed drugs do you take for it

I am the same boyfriend was yapping on this morning & ruffling bags (Im in bed with really bad migraine at this point) i just wanted to scream at him to F-off but i knew id just make my head worse :irked:

I have only been out of bed for last couple of hours. Last week i was prescribed some Ibruprofen 600mg as normal nurofen (about 75mg) don't do anything for me so this morning i was thinking no problem i will be up & about in 30mins......took one tablet nothing absolutley no difference !!
Its ridiculous. btw i did vote for one a day but that was a slightly over the top, I have a headache every day but a full on migraine 2/3 times a week which will keep me in bed at least half of day.

One thing that annoys me is i don't know anyone else that suffers so no-one understands it is genuinely painful, they just think im exagerating a mild headache that could be cured with a couple of asprin !

ask your doctore for Midrid or imigran, imigram, but make sure you can have these, i took imigran and nearly died, think i was alergic, but listening to people who have had stroke like symptons, not so sure, mya be i had the same type of stroke like symptons with my migraine-10 years ago, or may be a i m alergic to sumatriptan??????????

Hi, I used to get something similar to this without the blacking out though. It would start as tingling then numbness in one arm then kind of electrical lights flashing all in front of my eyes and couldn't see anything just kind of half vision, I wouldnt be able to get up as my co-ordination was all over the place and couldn't speak properly as my words would come out all jumbled. (not being able to get my words out would also be an indication of an attack about to happen) Like you I did not get always get headaches, just a pressure on my head like there were bricks on it or something! Ive had a couple of headaches following the migraine and they were the worst ever I couldn't even put my head down on the bed as it would hurt  .

The Doctor said they were migraines and sometimes they can have stroke like symptoms. Anyway he also sent me for some blood tests and it was found that I had a high platelet count and was sent to a specialist, he told me to take aspirin everyday and also said the migraines are a symptom of this as the blood wasn't flowing freely to my brain  it actually sounds worse then it is im sure!! anyway I havn't had an attack in about 3 years touch wood since taking aspirin and the specialist keeps insisting it was this that was causing them! So it may be best to have some checks done. Sorry this was long, just saw your experience and wanted to comment.

hi there, i think i had a stroke type migraine attack almost 10/12 years ago........it was after i took imigran in the mist of this migraine, then i felt tight in my arms and a crushing sensation in my chest and tight in my throat, and i started to feel like a wanted to dribble from the mouth, and then i found it difficult to speak!!!!
i went and just laid there on my sofa for hours, may be four.......
in phoned the doctors that evening, they wanted me in for an ECG test, which was ok, they think that i was allergic to sumatriptan in the imigran tablet, although reading other peoples stroke like migraines, i am not so sure now

I take rizatriptan for my cluster headaches and these are often prescribed for migraines too...they are also know as Maxalt Melt...you just put the small wafer on your tongue and it melts with seconds and it usually helps me within 30 mins....maybe not getting rid of the headache completely on every occasion, but it does take the edge off them. There are about 5 or 6 different triptan meds so if one doesnt suit you can try another until you find one that does help.

be easier to cut and paste and return
vola

So, Imigran which is sumatripton and is from the same family (triptans) as the rizatriptan I take ...as I have put in a reply above there are about 5-6 different ones in this range so maybe if you had problems with sumatriptan then you might be able to tolerate one of the other ones. Worth a try. Apparently Sumatriptan will be available over the counter soon but for this triptan only and doesnt include the one I take.

Do we carry the same meds as you here in the states?

Have no idea hun and also sometimes they are called different names even if you do have them....well worth asking your doctor.

I take naramig which is also a triptan called Amerge in the usa :)

Yes of course please do. Get every type of test you can think of just to make sure all is well. We don't want you suffering with strokes thinking they are migraines, that can be very dangerous....

I get migraines very unfrequently, I think mine are caused by certain kinds of cold medicines. I usually get a warning that they are coming because my vision gets all weird....I loose all perephrial vision and there are "holes" everywhere. I know right away to bust into the medicine cabinet when it happens. I feel very lucky that's all that happens to me, considering what some of you go through. Poor things!

Someone I used to work with suffered from migranes and it was suggested it could be the office lighting.. The next day, the boss had turned off the lights and bought some desk lamps from Ikea. It was like working by candlelight! Gave the rest of us headaches as we were straining our eyes to work! By the afternoon, the lights were back on!! I do not think it made much difference to the person in question either.
