Sorry if this has been covered b4 but I'm on my Internet on my phone n I can't find the answer in the search...
How long would say to a client minx should last? I know some people will make them last 4ever n some will pick them off in a day lol
but if you were selling them to a client what kind of time would u expect them to get out of a set ....
Thank you x

If you put them on correctly and your client looks after them then will last until they grow out. I had mine on for 7 weeks when I tested them. Was a bit fed up of the same pattern by then lol
It will depend on what sort of shoes your clients wear, their lifestyle etc x

I've just had mine replaced after about 8 weeks at least and it was only because they were growing out. :)

On toes you would expect them to look perfect from between 4 -6 weeks, then it is really down to how quickly the client's toenails grow. All that will happen is that you will see the new nail growth below the Minx. I have seen Minx still on toes after 10 weeks but with a big growth area, had to give the client a severe talking-to:lol:

On fingers it varies. I myself have worn them for over 2 weeks perfectly but I do know how to take care of them and avoid 'wearing' at the free edge. I do not guarantee it will last more than a few days (our clients may go home and scrub their pots with Brillo pads for all we know and that certainly won't help) but I will teach clients how to look after them if they wish to wear them for longer than a few days on their fingers then it is up to them really how long they will get from them.

In my experience, clients do like them on their fingers but usually only for special occasions or weekends and that is never a problem.

As for toes....EVERYBODY loves Minx, we sometimes have clients coming back after two weeks...Minx is still perfect but they are desperate to try a new design or match up with their latest shoes!!!!!!

It's all good, let me know if you would like any more advice on helping them to last on fingers.

Hi, I would really love to hear some advice for making minx last longer on fingers. Im not doing too badly with them (one of my clients is well into her 2nd week with golden cheetah on fingers but she is not a picker and has not been fiddling with them!!!) but would welcome any little tips.

Thank you.

Lauren

Thanks for all your replies, Fiona yes any tips u can share would be great!

Ok guys here you go...

  1. NEVER put on a 'picker' as some of you have already sussed - it is the loveliest thing in the world to pick and that's from a non-picker:)
  2. NEVER 'stretch' the Minx especially when it is warm, it is very tempting to do this to smooth out bubbles or creases...RESIST! Use your thumbs or rubber-ended pusher to gently smooth them under full heat. If you stretch the Minx it will pull back from the free edge when it cools.
  3. Tell your client to wear gloves when washing up or cleaning.
  4. If she notices a slight lifting of one of her Minx, for example whilst close blow-drying of her hair, tell her to smooth it down and let it cool and it will be fine. Show her how to press and smooth exactly the way you do yourself when applying.
  5. Teach her to use her thumbs and index fingers to smooth over the free edges when she is idle (watching tv, etc) this will help to eradicate any 'wearing' at the free edge which is not really 'wearing' at all but the Minx shrinking back from the edge.
  6. SolarOil every day as normal.
  7. If she takes hot baths or showers, again teach her to smooth over them while still warm and tell her not to be rough with them until they have cooled.
This may seem like a lot to watch out for but if you are chatting to her and explaining the do's and dont's while you are applying it's easy for her to understand.

I did a set of matching Minx Toes and Fingers in the salon this morning and the client loved them so much she asked me for 20 business cards to give to her friends and colleagues!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you Fiona, that has really helped...Im guilty of the 'pulling' and have been getting slight shrinking at the free edge, so problem solved!!!!

Thanks for sharing
