Dearest Fellow Minx,

We wanted to take this opportunity to thank you so very much for your support of Minx™, and to give you advance notice of a new consumer product that we are supporting.

Beginning in June 2010, Sephora will be introducing OPI Chic Prints for Nail Design Appliqués in all U.S. and Canadian stores. These Appliqués were developed in collaboration with Minx, and will be available to consumers.

However, we want to assure you that our focus and priority remains with you, our professional customers, and we’d like to explain some key differences between Minx and the new OPI Chic Print line.

The OPI Chic Prints will be marketed as nail fashion that lasts one to two days, and they are applied using only hand-generated friction. Initially, eight designs will be introduced, with additional designs for holidays. None of the designs will be the same as the professional designs that we offer at the MinxNails.com online store.

We want to ensure that you are aware of this product in case your customers mention it to you. The OPI Chic Prints are not in any way an alternative to the original Minx nails, which must be applied by a nail professional, and which last 4 to 8 days on the fingers, and up to 4 weeks on the toes.

You may wonder why Minx has agreed to this collaboration when we are clearly focused on the professional market, and continue to grow that market internationally. Well, as you know, Minx launched a little over two years ago, and as any small business owner understands, you can only expand as quickly as your revenue stream allows. We are hoping that this collaboration will allow us to better serve you, to improve our order and delivery capacity, to create more designs more quickly, to expand into additional international markets, and to conduct more training sessions across the country to ensure that Minx continues its popularity and momentum. And, to be honest, we were pleased to have Sephora and OPI approach us as a collaborative partner, instead of seeing a copycat product hit the market without our consent or quality control.

Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions, as we have customer service representatives available for you at 1-866-757-MINX (6469), or accessible by email at [email protected].

Again, thank you so much for hanging in with us as we grow, and we hope you have been enjoying your Minx experience. May your summer bring you lots and lots of fingers and toes to Minx!

Best regards,

Janice Jordan and Dawn Lynch-Goodwin, Minx co-founders

I'd say that the new thing is not a competing line and that you needn't worry about it impacting your business any more than false nails impact on your business. In fact I see it as helping to improve the professional line of Minx in the way that Dawn and Janice have explained.

Not worried, just thought it was interesting.
