Hi Guys

I am in the process of setting up a new salon and have been told to look in to Murad. Its not a range I have heard of let alone experience with. Any of you guys used Murad?

Any advice at all would be appreciated.

Well good luck is all I can say - ive contacted them 3 times in the past about taking them on and am still awaiting contact from them!

How strange. I only emailed them this morning and have had 3 email responses already and having an information pack sent out to me?

Must have bucked their ideas up! In the meantime I found a new cosmeceutical range!

Good products tho!

Can I ask what you're using Matthew? Im still at the deciding stage!

i use murad on myself and i love it!!

Ah Pinkcouture, I may have to pick your brains then if you dont mind?

Which other brands have you used that it is comparable to?
Do they provide training?
Whats their suppport/rep system like?
Could you tell me what their opening order is?

Any advice much appreciated.

I use Murad in our clinic - they are very result driven and very effective but it can be a struggle with clients as there is very little awareness of Murad within the UK.

Thanks Annied

Do you think you could give me some more info?

Like the questions asked in my post above.

Thanks for taking the time to write back.

Hun i wish i could help you out more but I only buy it for myself, not to use on clients. I have used espa, elemis, dermalogica, decleor, ren, gatineau and loads of other cheapy makes but murad agrees with my skin the most.
The products smell lush and my skin feels lovely after using them, but then everybodys different so what works for me wont work for everyone, i think its a preference thing.
With products like espa i didnt like the smell as its quite a strong herbal/floral smell in my opinion wheras the murad products are light and fruity which appeals to me. But like i said before it really depends on what the individual likes xx

The spa I work in trialled Murad for about four months and they didn't have any luck with it. Don't quote me on this, as I left for a few months, but think they came and pulled the brand! Tbh never bothered to ask the details but maybe they weren't selling enough!? Clients just weren't interested as they didn't really know the brand. Although a few of the girls were really impressed with it.

Brill thanks for the info guys.

Now looking at Eve Taylor which seems to be coming out on top atm

:)

Hi Zoerose

FYI - and for anyone else out there ... I am currently selling through my Murad stock and will not be renewing it! I took the brand on a couple of years ago as I was looking for an advanced product and got a really good deal at Manchester. My rep was great! BUT.. as the brand grew in the UK it decided it was only going to be used at 'Spa' level (such as Urban Retreat) and only in businesses of three rooms or more.

Buying stock has been a nightmare. To start with the orders were always wrong, late or out of stock and the minimum order - NOT minimum opening order - was always for three units of each product. So, if a client wanted a cleanser, treatment product and moisturiser it would mean an order of NINE products, of which only three were guaranteed to sell quickly. For a specialised condition this meant having products sitting waiting for the appropriate skin condition to come along. Buying in deals was also prohibitively expensive and it was only into my second year when my rep told me (and she did not have to do this) that I was due to become a 'telephone contact' client. I did not merit having a rep coming to see me..... None of this had even been hinted at when I took the brand on.

In addition, I think the range is far too wide and complex - unnecessarily so. I have now taken on Medik8 which is really great! A BRITISH company with a green ethos. Small, intimate training and excellent value. They are totally aware that the cosmeceutical market is rapidly growing and see no point in pricing themselves out of the market. Medik8 comes under the umbrella of Skinbrands and this means I can have access to other brands such as Skinceuticals and Revitalash at the same time.

Check them out. Changing brands was the best decision of the year! Cheers!

Oh. BTW. I also stock Eve Taylor. Having both means I can satisfy my chemical needs and my indulgence and totally tailor-make (no pun) my facials for each client...

Ah Little Voyce I have just replied to another post you have left me saying Im looking in to Eve Taylor so its interesting that you already stock it. I am fairly new to this game so could you tell me how you get on with it? Do you mean you can invest in a prescriptive treatment along side this as its aromatherapy? Sorry for my naivety, hope you dont mind helping me out!

:)
