I am due to finish my EN nail course very soon and will be getting insurance etc so that I can work on "real" clients as such instead of as a student.

A shop local to me who sells hair extensions, wigs, accessories and such have approached me with a view to setting up a nail area in thier premises once I qualify.

They will be having a hair lady in who fits extensions etc as well.

They say that, their thoughts right now are along the lines of a commission based set up and I can have the choice of whether or not they supply my products and take a bigger commission or not.

If they supply, would that not make me basically employed by them?

What sort of commission is classed as reasonable assuming that I provide my own kit and insurances etc.

Also, can you possibly advise on how the moral and legal sides lay with regards to clients? I have a small client base who have come to me throughout my training and I am confident they would stay with me but what about new clients to the shop? If I am self employed, am I right in thinking that the client base is not legally linked to the shop itself? The owners of said shop do not do any form of beauty work other than retail supply of various things.

I feel this would be a good chance for me to gain retail and commercial experience and that I am confident enough to try and make a go of it alongside further training etc.

Thanks in advance Geeks xxxx
